What's the difference in Validators?
Below is an explanation of the available Validator options and why you might choose one over the other.
๐ก MEV Protect - As you may have seen, MEV/Sandwich attacks have begun on pump.fun, if you're not familiar with what this means, it basically entails that if if you have a high slippage value, bots will buy before your buy transaction to push up the price and then immediately sell after your buy to bring the price back down. They are guaranteed a profit, and you will pay more for the tokens because of it. The MEV Protect option which will ensure you don't encounter these attacks. There is a downside of potentially slower transaction time, but this is the price to pay for protection.
๐ค TURBO - This validator setting will generally have the highest success rate and speed of transactions, it will submit with the priority fee bribe and also submit to alternate Validators as well. If you are able to use tighter slippage values, there is no issue using the TURBO validator, however if you are trading with large slippage values you'll need to monitor closely and potentially adjust your strategy if you find yourself getting sandwiched regularly.
๐ก PUBLIC - Using this setting will submit your transaction to standard RPC's, this means the priority fee (bribe) is not used - only the transaction fee is relevant when using this Validator. This will usually be the slowest option, but can be useful when submitting non critical trades or bump buy type purchases where you're looking for lower fees. You'll find at times transactions can still land quite quickly, particularly if you use a reasonable transaction fee - but in times of congestion one of the other settings will generally be more beneficial.
