Trailing Stop Loss

PreviousAuto Sell: Take Profit / Stop LossNextBonding Curve Sell

Last updated 8 months ago

What is a Trailing Stop Loss? A Trailing Stop Loss is similar to a regular Stop Loss but the trigger price moves in line with the token price movements. You set the trailing percentage, and your trigger price will follow at that percentage behind the moving token price when it rises, or stay fixed when the token price declines - helping to protect against downside risk and also locking in potential gains. For more info, see the Trailing Stop Loss Example

PlonkBot continues to make your trading easy on Pump.fun, Raydium and Dex tokens with Trailing Stop Loss functionality, lets get started! The first step is to configure your default settings which will apply to any new token purchases, to do this use the 'Auto Sell Settings' from the /settings menu.

Now you can edit your default settings on the below screen, these settings will be used to apply automatically to any new token purchase (if they are enabled).

TRAILING STOP LOSS

ADD NEW +

Tap the '+ Add Trailing Stop Loss +' Button:

ADD / EDIT PROFILE SETTINGS

From the add / edit screen you adjust the trailing stop loss parameters as required.

From the Add/Edit Record screen you can update the individual profile settings. Enabled / Disabled: Tap to toggle Trailing Delta: Tap and reply with the new Trigger percentage to update Sell: Tap and reply with the new Sell amount percentage to update Validator: Tap to toggle Priority: Tap and reply with the new Priority fee to update Slippage: Tap and reply with the new Slippage percentage to update

EDIT AN EXISTING TRAILING STOP LOSS PROFILE

Note: You can override these settings on each individual token from the sell screen.

1️⃣ Enabled / Disabled: Set if new tokens will have take profit enabled or disabled automatically. (Enabled in the example). Disabled Profiles will not be applied to new tokens.

2️⃣ Edit Profile: Edit the trigger percentage, sell amount, validator, priority fee and slippage settings

3️⃣ Delete Profile: Delete the profile

EDIT TRANSACTION SETTINGS

Validator: Set your Validator to be used as the default for Auto sell transactions (TURBO recommended for Sell transactions). Can be customized in each profile individually. Priority Fees: Set your desired Priority Fees that will be used as the default for Auto sell transactions. Can be customized in each profile individually.

Slippage Config: Set your desired Slippage percentage that will be used for Auto sell transactions. Can be customized in each profile individually.

Some of the finer details to be aware of for the initial launch of this feature:

  • If for any reason the Sell order fails (slippage, not enough sol for fees, congestion, timeout, priority fees too low etc etc), it won't be retried. You can submit your own manual Sell's at the same time or after the sell in this case.

  • Be careful if trying to use this feature with smaller initial trade amounts, as your initial position includes the fees used you can start in a negative position which may trigger a stop loss sell if you haven't set it at a large enough trigger percentage.

Token Auto Sell Settings

You can adjust the Auto Sell settings directly on the sell screen for each individual token, example shown below:

1️⃣ Enabled / Disabled: Set if new tokens will have take profit enabled or disabled automatically. (Enabled in the example). Disabled Profiles will not be applied to new tokens.

2️⃣ Edit Profile: Edit the trigger percentage, sell amount, validator, priority fee and slippage settings

3️⃣ Delete Profile: Delete the profile

4️⃣ Edit Auto Sells: Add auto sell profiles to this token, edit existing auto sell advanced settings, or in the case of Trailing Stop Loss - view current price & trigger prices.

You can toggle to Enable / Disable any of your active profiles on each token, Tap and reply to edit your trigger percentage and sell percentages. For adding new Auto Sell profiles to this token, or editing the transaction settings for a profile, tap the 'EDIT AUTO SELLS' button. You can also view the price details of your trailing stop loss from within the Edit Auto Sells menu.

EDIT AUTO SELLS MENU (TOKEN LEVEL)

Much like the Auto Sell settings page, you can edit or add new auto sell profiles for this particular token. Tap to enable / disable, open the profile to edit settings, or delete the profile.

EDIT TRAILING STOP LOSS (TOKEN LEVEL)

The edit screen is very similar to the user level profile with the additional display of price details: Activation Price: The higher of your initial entry price (including fees), or current price of the token. If you make multiple purchases of a particular token, your latest purchase price (including fees) is used. Trailing Price: This is the current trigger price, moving upwards with token price increases Start Trailing Price: The initial trigger price when the order is first placed / updated
